Georgia vs.
Arkansas
(Friday at
5:00 CST on CBS)
I don’t know
if we will ever see a season end quite like this one where both teams got to
this game on last second miracle passes.
It has been a long tough road for Georgia and I am sure everyone
associated with Georgia is really enjoying this week. Arkansas made it in 1995 but have a much better chance to win
this time.
A very
interesting matchup. I think both teams
will be pretty healthy coming in. I
expect both defenses to come out strong.
Both of these defenses can cause some turnovers and really turn the
game. That will probably be a huge
factor. The offenses are a contrast in
styles. Georgia is one of the better
passing teams in the conference while the Razorbacks are a pure running team.
Both teams
are led by QBs who aren’t always the best statistically but are always calm
under fire and make big plays. Arkansas
will look to run the ball and jump on any opportunity that Georgia gives them. I expect Georgia to come out passing with a
lot of Musa Smith thrown in. I mean
there just isn’t anything new to write, everybody pretty much knows everyone
else’s strategy. It is all about
execution and desire.
Last year LSU
upset a highly favored Tennessee team so you wouldn’t think the Dawgs would
take Arkansas lightly. Arkansas is a
scrappy, opportunistic, never-say-die team that comes in with nothing to lose
so I expect them to make a strong move.
However if Georgia is able to run it’s offense any good at all I think
they will be able to get the win.
GEORGIA OVER
ARKANSAS
Overall picking SEC vs. SEC/BCS opponents I went 4-2 last week. I finish the season at 48-18 (72%). Overall including patsies I finished the season at 77-20 (79%).
